The Forum Theater Workshop in Lithuania took place between 24 October and 8 November.  Young people are now ready to take the next step and present the performance on 15 November.

Last rehearsals before the premiere and unexpectedly the main actor who was supposed to play Hamlet disappears. Who will replace him when there are no more male actors in a group? Can the famous monologue with the question “to be or not to be?” be read on a stage by the female actor? A heated discussion which digs deeper into the gender stereotypes develops. Are we still the captives of old cliches which were prevalent during the Soviet times? How women rights advanced after Independence? How can art challenge and change deeply rooted gender roles? These questions form the backbone of the forum theatre performance which will premiere in Panevezys theatre “Menas”. The play is being directed by Dovile Klimentjeva.
