We are happy to share that we held the first activity under The Price of Freedom and Democracy project on 22 April 2021.

We screened the documentary “Breath” (1988) and held a discussion with students at the 10th grade from 35 High School in Sofia, Bulgaria. The film portrays the very first wave of civil movements in Bulgaria. The students enhanced their knowledge about the recent Bulgarian history, learnt about the origins of contemporary civil society, and accessed their current liberties. During the follow-up discussion, the students elaborated on democractic concepts and their meaning for their community.

In the next few months, another 17 documentaries will be presented before young people in six EU countries – Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland and Romania.
